Energy-efficient Interiors
Nearly 18% of homes in France are “thermal sieves” (grade F or G in the DPE – Energy Performance Diagnosis), i.e very energy-greedy. This very often means disproportionate energy costs and relative thermal comfort, both in summer and winter. If you are considering doing refurbishment work, it can be wise to consider energy renovation work at the same time. The analysis of the existing situation, if necessary carried out via a regulatory energy audit, coupled with your needs and objectives, makes it possible to define implementation scenarios around insulation, heating, air conditioning/ventilation, domestic hot water, lighting…
In addition, the Climate and Resilience Law of 2021 provides for a gradual ban on the rental of these energy-greedy properties. Specifically:
- Since 08/25/2022: rents for F & G accommodation can no longer be increased
- As of January 1, 2025, G housing can no longer be rented
- As of January 1, 2028, same thing for F housing
- As of January 1, 2034, same thing for D housing
Regarding sale, there is an obligation to carry out a regulatory energy audit for the sale of properties rated F or G since April 1, 2023. This will become the case for properties rated E on January 1, 2025 and for properties rated D on January 1, 2028.
Whatever your objective (reducing your energy expenses, improving the DPE to ensure rental, etc.), Studio Archibald advises you on the actions to take, the work to be carried out as a priority, the state funds available and recommends certified contractors for the work.
